Clinque Bottom Lash Mascara-Is it really that good?

Hey Guys!
Today I will be review the Clinque Bottom Lash Mascara, which in all honesty I don't believe is as good as it is made out to be unfortunately.
This is the new-ish Clinque Bottom Lash Mascara in Black, with a extremely small brush to make it easier to apply to your bottom lash's, Clinque claims that mascara's formula is long lasting and defining whilst the Boot's website claims it is 'Small by design, so bottom lash's show off. Big time.' I can't honestly say this is all too true..I know that it is one of Clinque's best sellers and quite a few people have raved about this, but I don't see anything special about it expect the concept.
Firstly the packaging is 'ok' it very much fits in with the Clinque packaging, however for me it is not very appealing, likely because the brand is not targeted to my age grouping therefore is some what irrelevant, to be brutal honest I find the packaging reminding me of something I would be likely to find in my Grannie's make-up bag, but each to there own, I knew this product was raved about some what and wanted to try it therefore overlooked my feelings for the packaging and buy it.
When applying the mascara, the wand picks up far too much product to be used solely on the bottom lash's, therefore I find myself at a bit of a loss, when applying only on the bottom lash's it comes off very thick and obvious... I can't really say too much good on the product, it is average at best. When very carefully applied,(let me point out I feel I have to be more careful applying this mascara designed for bottom lash's on that if I were using my everyday normal brushed mascara) once any harsh lash colouring and bits of clumping are tidied up the end result is nice, not amazing but nice, it does admittedly open the eyes more however considering the efforts to get the overall look I can't say that it was much worth it.
It is not the worse mascara in the world, when used on both top and bottom the look is nice, when applied to the top lash's they are long and darker however because the brush is smaller it does take slightly longer. For £11 this mascara is not really worth the money...My normal mascara is cheaper than this and does a better job that this mascara as it does not live up to any hype created by it and I think is disappointing for a higher end brand to sell this item when the main purpose of it is to use for bottom lash's which can't be done easily.

Overall this mascara is 'ok' not too good, more on the bad side in my opinion, I will not be buying it again unfortunately as I feel it is not worth the money, I will however continue to use it as I did not pay £11 for nothing! I like the concept of a small wand for a bottom lash mascara, I just find the wand picks up too much product which makes applying to bottom lash's a hassle.

I hope this review was helpful to people, remember to enter my give away if you haven't already here!

  1. I've never understood the hype this got, I can put mascara on my bottom lashes perfectly adequately with a standard brush so it just seems a bit pointless to me! To each their own, though, I guess...

  3. Personally, the mascaras I have, with a more gentle touch, work just as well and fine on my bottom lashes as they do the top lashes. Possibly just a 'lets make more money' product? xo

    1. Mmm I would have to agreed with that, Clinque doesn't need a product like that though, they are doing well I would assume! :) x

  6. I love Clinique Chubby Sticks, but I'll have to say no to this mascara. I've never really understood why there is so much hype about the bottom lashes mascaras...
