NARS Kalahari Eyeshadow Duo

Hey Guys!
I've started blogging again after taking a bit of a break from it all; I had a lot going on in the past few months with moving houses and taking exams so I needed to take a break for a while,  but I have really missed blogging and want to jump straight back into it with a review of  a lovely beauty product I own the Nars Kalahari Eyeshadow Duo.
I really like NARS packaging, it's simplicity and sleekness give it a very classy finished look, for the eyeshadow duo itself the packaging is slightly bigger in person that I thought being about the size of my palm I guess it should be expected since it's a two in one kind of deal, it just makes it a bit of a pain to fit into my makeup bag with all my other bits and bobs. However it's very well made; I've dropped this bad boy quite a few times and squeel as it hits the floor but it has proven to be a sturdy bugger so I'm not complaining at all (touch wood I haven't just jinxed myself) Also when opened it reveals a mirror to use which is very handy if like me you are forever misplacing your mirror or if you're travelling and need everything to be more compact and travel friendly.
Kalahari is a duo of shimmery neutral shades, the left being a gold tone with slight bronze undertones (the kind that makes you think of the Little Mermaid and underwater jewels, or maybe just me) and the right being a soft golden brown shade with a hint of a reddish silver undertone.
I think like a lot of people when it comes to eyeshadows I rarely sway from neutrals, so this duo is great to add to the collection. The left shade is very well pigmented and makes it quick to apply to my eyes and the gold really does if I do say so myself complement my green eyes very well. The right shade is not as highly pigmented, I find that I have to dip my brush into it a few times to get a tone that doesn't look too washed out on the extremely fair skin I own, however what I really like about the shade is that it feels so soft! I could waste the shade just on feeling it.

Although I wear these shades with other shadows sometimes, I really do like to pair them together. After applying my eye primer I apply the left shade to my lid and the right shade to my crease and blend in, I like that the shadows both blend really well together to give a slight smokey eye, I prefer to apply the gold toned eyeshadow to the lid of my eye because it brightens the eyes.
As the shades are so universal I feel confident in applying them to wear for day or night, winter or summer, it really doesn't matter all too much when I wear it because the shades are very buildable so you can wear it casually while shopping or intensify it up a bit more for a dinner or party.
I really like the Kalahari Eyeshadow Duo and I'm glad it is in my make up stash, would I buy it again? I 'm not too sure, there are plenty of neutral shades out there and with a price of £25 for the duo I think I would find a cheaper alternative or make do with what I have for the moment, I think it would be a product I would put on a birthday list rather than buy it myself, but if you are looking to try a NARS product or some neutral  shades I would definitely recommend Kalahari to you if you have the cash to splash.

Illamasqua Katie Blusher.

Hey Guys!
Today I wanted to review a blusher I have been in love with for a while, I think it may be my favourite blusher of the moment. I received Illamasqua's Katie for Christmas after constantly pinching my mum's one, I was really surprised that she got me it, but so happy that I now had my own to use!
First I want to start with the packaging, I am really a sucker for neat and simple make-up packaging and Illamasqua is one of the brands that tick that box perfectly, the simpleness of the product design makes it seem more sophisticated and I appreciate a product that I can take out to reapply anywhere without feeling like a fool because of the bright neon decorated packaging.
Katie is a pale pink blusher that is very build able from a light dusk of colour to the cheeks to being a very obvious barbie pink (if that's what you want to go for) I tend to stick in between the too, enough to give some vibrance to my pale complexion but not too much so that I look like I've just come out the circus. That's one thing I've noticed, it's very easy to look like a circus clown with any Illamasqua blusher because they are so pigmented, so I tend to use a light hand and spend the extra ten seconds building a suitable colour.

What I love about Katie is that it is very versatile, it can be worn day or night, summer or winter, and can go with everything, it is a all round good blusher. I do need to reapply the blusher some point through the day, but that's to be excepted, I use a stippling brush to apply to my cheeks which does the job well.

Overall I really enjoy this blusher, I think it works really well on my skin tone and brightens up my face, although I would recommend trying out this blusher I would say that it may wash out olive toned skin as it is quite pale, but I'd still recommend swatching it at a Illamasqua counter next time you're there!

Hope you have a great day everyone, see you soon!

Topshop Celestial NOTD.

Hey Guys!
Last week-end I was in Oxford Street for a bit and popped into Topshop as you do, I went to their make-up section and picked up this blue nail polish. I really liked how pale the blue was, when painted it is slightly darker but it looks really nice and I can see myself wearing Celestial a lot in the Spring/Summer months!
Topshop Celestial
What it looks like on, I applied two coats of the nail polish so that the colour really comes out and it has a double coating as well as applying a clear coat on top.

Today I painted my nails and decided to give Celestial a go and I'm very happy with my purchase, I'm a fan on the Topshop nail polishes as they have a very good range of colours and the nail polish in my experience lasts quite well and doesn't chip.

Topshop Celestial - £5

Hope you guys have a great day!

Sigma Flat Angled Kabuki F88 Brush Review

Hey Guys!
Today I wanted to review for you my new favourite brush that I have been completely in love with since I received it!
I received this brush from Sigma a few months ago so I've had a  fair bit of use of it.
Firstly I love how neat and simple the brush is, it doesn't try to stand out too much against other brushes, I like the simplicity of the contrasting black and silver design.

Sigma is one of the brands that I like for brush's because they use synthetic bristle for their brushes, this means that they are less prone to damage, their easy to clean and they are extremely soft which is perfect for the application of liquid foundation, which is what I use it for.

I love how well this brush glides my foundation on, giving me a good even base coverage and as it has a angled head  the F88 makes it easier to get to all areas of my face evenly as well as this because the brush is quite wide it doesn't take me as long to apply my foundation as the brush covers large areas very quickly.

Overall I really enjoy this brush and have used it happily since receiving it, I didn't think that I would ever use a foundation brush that wasn't my Real Techniques Buffing Brush but I guess I was wrong!
I would truly recommend this brush for everyone to try, it is retailed at $18 at sigmabeauty.com which is slightly more expensive but I would say it's worth it, I know I will be checking out more of their brushes in the near future to try out!

Hope you guys found this review helpful, if you have any post requests eg. more beauty review/more fashion posts then just comment below and I will add it to my blog post list!
