Benefit Creaseless Cream Eyeshadow in Birthday Suit.

Hey Guys!
Today I really wanted to review a product I have rekindled my love for recently, Benefit's Creaseless Cream Eyeshadow in Birthday Suit that was mentioned in my August Favourites!
I think quite a lot of bloggers know about this range, it's been around for quite a while so is by no means new to the bloggers world, but I think Birthday Suit is an extremely under rated shade in the collection Benefit have. The packaging is quite cute and dinky I think, it's very sturdy worry not about it mysteriously breaking on you however I'm not all too sure I'm keen on the doves, there's something about them I don't fina all too appealing, Benefit have had better designs I guess is the way to put it, but after such a while owning it I have gotten used to it and overlooked it.
Onto Birthday Suit itself it's a light shimmery gold cream eyeshadow with a slight taupe undertone, I think gold tones look great on anyone and really brighten the eyes up (who doesn't want that ay?!) Birthday Suit is a cream eyeshadow, with a soft texture and a kind of creamy fluffiness to it that makes it lovely and smooth to touch, because of this I don't really want to get my fingers messy so apply it with a synthetic brush as the bristles are better made to pick up the product and apply straight to the eyelid. When I first got Birthday Suit I didn't think it would be well pigmented at all, I thought I would need to have a few goes applying it to get a noticeable shade achieved however to my happy surprise I was mistaken as it is quite well pigmented so I don't have to "dig" my brush into it a lot (aka more product for me to use another time yay!)
I think that gold eyeshadows are really versatile shades, which makes Birthday Suit amazing to use any time,place,season..you get the jist haha, and I like that it's different to all my other gold eyeshadows because it's a cream shadow, it's unique and in my makeup collection at least it is a quirky minority which could possibly be why I favour it so much. I love to apply Birthday Suit to my lid and then blend it with powder eyeshadows like in my FOTD earlier, it works really well together with other colours and is just a nice change to use from the same palette I use everyday. As for the creaseless part of the title, I would highly recommend using a eye primer before applying this as I find it stays on better and really doesn't crease with some on, on the times I have forgotten to use primer that's when I find the eyeshadow gets a bit sloppy and just looks washed out.
Overall I think it's obvious I really like Benefit's Birthday Suit, and would recommend it to anyone wanting a new eyeshadow or perhaps to someone who has never tried a cream eyeshadow and wants to give it a go, just try to use it with a eye primer as it achieves a nicer look and the colour stays better. Retailing at £14 (or at the moment Benefit's website is telling me its £7!) I would say it's well worth the money and I would buy it again if I was to ever run out or lose it.

This week I've started my first week of college and I've been shattered! Such long days at least compared to what I'm used to, so I may be a little slacking in the social media department while I get to grips with my new scheduele that will become the death of me I'm sure of it, but I will may sure to post a few times every week (this Thursday is my birthday so I'm sure there will be plenty to blog about then haha)

Hope you enjoyed this post!

I have been hearing good things about this cream eyeshadow in birthday suit but i haven't got round to trying it out at their counter yet. I love this kind of colour and it will look so effortlessly pretty on the lids <3

  6. That is so pretty! I've been looking for something like this for a while now... instead I've been finding powdered versions with very less pigment. I might just give it a try! Thanks!
